In a rudely unpredictable world that's constantly changing as rapidly as the four seasons, it can be quite difficult to keep up with change! I'll be honest, I was never wildly enthusiastic about change, who is? Change forces us to detach from a cocooned state in which we are comfortable. While comfortability should be of prime importance in our lives, human evolution points at challenge as a prerequisite for evolution. Taking a look at Darwinism, Charles Darwin's theory of evolution describes that biological species evolve based on natural selection; natural selection is nature's extremely cutthroat elimination of species that possess unfavorable traits in respect to viable survival in their environment. Therefore, change, while incredibly unnerving, is the reason we are not the same people we were one or even ten years ago.
One comes to the realization that our lives are built upon an unchangeable rule, that rule is change! Since change is inevitable, we should surrender to its force in our lives, rather than run from its presence.
"Easier said than done" is what you're probably thinking. Welcoming change is not about forcing yourself to be ecstatic about events that are plainly cumbersome. Embracing change is about consciously shifting your mindset and acknowledging that while the change that is evading your life might be unfavorable, it is not an apocalyptic force in your life. It will not ruin your life and will certainly not worsen it in any way.
Be aware that the one thing you might love the most in your life, could be a comfort zone. You may be allowing your lustful delights to usurp your chance at self improvement. Keep in mind that change is conscious, you can begin changing small habits that you have always been unhappy with or you can experiment by altering the daily routine you enjoy so much.
The change I'm describing can be likened to surfing in rough waters. While diving into a monstrous wave might feel life threatening, once you allow yourself to be one with the wave, you open yourself up to the life improving effects of change.
I welcome you to welcome change. Have hope and know that any kind of unexpected turn in your life, is guiding you toward the path you are meant to follow.
